Freediving education system
The goal of the AIDA education system is to teach freediving knowledge and techniques in a safe manner and to promote freediving in general. The AIDA teaching system organizes courses for complete beginners all the way up to instructor level, which are all presented in a professionally structured, step-by-step manner.
Freediving safety guidelines
Freediving safety is the most important consideration in the AIDA teaching system. AIDA competition rules and teaching systems are formulated with safety as the first consideration. AIDA instructors teach freediving knowledge that applies to all different kinds of divers, such as spearfishers, snorkelers, athletes, etc.
Freediving competition and world records
AIDA holds freediving competitions around the world and has their own database of national and world records. Trained and certified AIDA judges implement and supervise the competitions in accordance with safety guidelines in order to meet the various levels of participants in small regions; AIDA also organizes the world championships.
